Migrant Voice invites you to join us in sending a powerful message of unity and saying no to hate.
One year on from the far-right riots we are creating a social media campaign to show our unity as a society against those who seek to divide us.
Our campaign #UnitedAgainstDivision will show that We say no to hate. We stand as one community.
Please join us in creating photos and short videos. We want as many as possible to take part.
See here further guidelines for the photos and videos as well as a sign to download.
Last year, following the summer’s far-right riots across the country, we came together in online spaces and in person to share our feelings, the impact of the riots and talk about what actions should be taken to mitigate recurrence of such events.
Since then we have seen increased opposition to the far-right in public, we have seen communities come together to stand up for each other and against hate. We have seen how people who spread division and hostility can be held accountable, but we have also seen negative rhetoric continue as well as inflammatory actions and hostilities against migrants. We have seen politicians and the media continue to spread false and divisive disinformation about migrants. We have seen violence erupt within communities, such as riots and bonfires in Northern Ireland.
It is more important than ever that we show the strength in our diversity, the power of our solidarity, and that as a community we stand together. It is more important than ever that we use that strength and unite against division.
