This online meeting is a chance for our members in the West Midlands to get a policy and legal advice update in relation to issues arising for migrants due to Covid-19. It will take place as a Facebook Live event on Thursday 9 April, 5.30-7pm, via this page:

Migrant Voice has been working with other organisations to call on the Government to suspend the need to submit visa applications, stop issuing refusals and for leave to remain to be extended for all, due to the lack of resources available to migrants and the need for many to self-isolate.
We have welcomed the announcement that the visas of certain NHS staff have been extended, however we feel all other visas should be extended too.
A number of members have told us that they want to be part of the NHS volunteer army to help fight the coronavirus, however due to their status they cannot volunteer.
Salman Mirza will lead the Facebook Live meeting. The first part will be about Migrant Voice's action plans and the second part will be a legal update from Brushstrokes Community Project.
Salman has been part of Migrant Voice for the past six years and is the Birmingham Network Worker for the organisation. He also practices law at OISC level 3 and has been doing that for over 18 years, 10 of them with Brushstrokes.
