Migrant Voice - London network meeting: Extortionate visa fees

Please join us at Migrant Voice’s London network meeting on Thursday 12 September from 6-8.30pm at VAI, 200a Pentonville Road, London N1 9JP. Refreshments provided.

We know that the costs of immigration – including visa fees, the NHS surcharge, premium appointments for uploading documents, legal fees, the cost of citizenship – are leaving ordinary people, ordinary families destitute and pricing people out of their rights.

Many of those affected by the high costs of the immigration process in the UK have been writing to us over the last months to share their experiences.

At this meeting, we will be discussing this issue further as part of our new campaign. An immigration adviser will be at the meeting to share some of his experiences of this issue and to offer advice to those affected.

Earlier this year at a network meeting in Birmingham, we heard from some members who are impacted by these costs. As a result of that meeting, we wrote a briefing calling for change and sent this to more than 1,000 policymakers across the UK. You can read about that here

Now we are gearing up for a bigger campaign on this issue and we want to hear from our members in London.

Even if you are not directly impacted, please do come along to share your thoughts on how we can campaign together for change on this issue.

Please confirm your attendance to anne@migrantvoice.org.

Do join us to share your experience of the impact of UK visa fees and your ideas for how we can work together to improve this situation.
