Many Voices, One Community

The ‘Many Voices, One Community ' project aimed to build better understanding of migrants’ experiences and contributions to life in Glasgow as well as build dialogue between communities.

The project, funded by Awards for All Scotland for 2014-15, ran a series of training sessions on how to develop your message, storytelling, and how to film short, creative, positive videos and how to edit and upload them to social media. Participants were additionally supported with mentoring sessions. Participants gained new skills, knowledge and confidence in how to tell their stories and how to use video messaging tools to do so.

As a result, participants produced a series of videos around the subject of migration, including immigration and emigration, diversity of communities, integration, anti-xenophobic messages, equality, home and community.

The videos were shown at three public screening events and used to engage the wider host community in dialogue around migration and community building.
