Applications for the Migrant Voice London Ambassadors Programme are now open.
Are you active in your community, passionate about changing the debate on migration, and concerned about the lack of migrant voices in the media and migration debate?
If so, this is for you. Migrant Voice is looking for migrants who are keen to develop their skills and knowledge in getting the voices and issues of their communities onto media platforms.
We’ll share our years of experience in speaking out and telling our stories. We will train you in identifying stories in your community and getting them into mainstream and social media.
Through workshops, peer learning, and hands-on media opportunities, you will learn how to craft impactful messages, challenge negative stereotypes, and influence public conversations about migration.
You’ll also get follow-up mentoring and support.
Participants will get a copy of our media toolkit and information about how to contact journalists in their area. There will be an opportunity to visit a TV news room and comment on news items.
You will receive a certificate on completion of the programme. You’ll also become part of our UK network of Migrant Ambassadors and be able to share experiences and learning with them, as well as getting access to future training activities to further build your skills.
The sessions will take place on the following dates:
Full day: (11am-5pm) Saturday 18 April – in person
Evenings: (6-8pm) Thursdays 30 April, 7 May, 14 May, 21 May - online
