 Migrant Voice - Next Media Lab in London May 21st

The next Media lab session in London will take place on Thursday May 21st from 3.00 – 8.00 pm at Migrant Voice, Lighthouse West London, 111-117 Lancaster Road, London W11 1QT.   The sessions are free, however you will need to book a place specifying which mentor(s) you would like to see and what you would like help with on the day.   Our mentors for the 21st of May session are:   Artur Conka – is a professional photographer and film maker. He has worked with various NGO’s in the field of human rights and advocacy as a film maker, photographer, and guest speaker and trainer. He has recently created a short film for Migrants Rights’ Network and a photography story for Open Society Foundations about the Roma Holocaust. He is currently working with IPPR, OSF and the AIRE Centre. Artur is available from 3pm - 8pm to support with photography.   Ehsan Masood  - is a science journalist. Since 2009 he has been editor of the Research Professional group of science-policy magazines that includes Research Fortnight and Research Europe. He has previously worked on the editorial staff or a number of other publications, and as communications director at LEAD International. He has also written for The TimesGuardianProspect, been a columnist for and is an occasional contributor to BBC Radio 4. Ehsan has written or edited a number of books, most recently Science and Islam: A History ), and co-written Dry: Life Without WaterEhsan is available from 3-6pm to support with article writing and preparing for an interview.   Daniel Nelson is a freelance journalist. Among his other jobs he is Editor of; runs an international service that works with journalists in Africa, Asia and Latin America; edits a weekly African science bulletin; and produces a guide to events about developing countries in London. He has worked on and edited newspapers, magazines, news services and online operations in Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, The Philippines, Uganda, UK and West Africa; trained journalists in a dozen countries (including at City University in London). Daniel is available from 3-7pm to help with writing and editing.   Please note that it is important to book for this – so please contact with information about which practical support you are looking for on the 21st and what time you are available.
