Migrant Voice - Birmingham Live interviews MV member about her struggle to be British

On 24 August 2019, Birmingham Live published an article about Takesh Hibbert, an MV member in the West Midlands who has been fighting for her right to stay in the UK for many years.

"I feel disconnected from Jamaica and connected here, but not wanted here," Takesh says. "I haven’t been accepted as a Jamaican. I haven't been accepted as British. I feel confused.

"That’s how I feel. That makes me cry because I feel like I have never been accepted anywhere."

Following the journalist's work on this story, Takesh was granted Indefinite Leave to Remain.
